Ep061 - A Quiet Place
Monday Apr 23, 2018
Monday Apr 23, 2018
This episode Allan and Patrick try to keep things down as they discuss "A Quiet Place". John Krasinski is the latest TV comedy star turned horror movie director to offer up a certified fresh flick. The lack of dialogue helps the characters as they are forced to shine through their performance and not just a strong script. The film is also another in a long line lately that gives women more prominence on screen. While there are a few horror movie cliches sprinkled throughout, A Quiet Place is a must-see film.

Ep060 - Jessica Jones: Season 2
Tuesday Apr 17, 2018
Tuesday Apr 17, 2018
This episode we delve into season 2 of Marvel's "Jessica Jones". This season picks up where the previous left off and proves that when they want to, Marvel can tell a good story. With Killgrave gone, this season is without a main villain and leaves more time to get to know the characters and their stories better. Where the show falters is looking too far ahead. Some of the later plot points are only there to set-up season 3 and other Marvel/Netflix entities.

Ep059 - Tomb Raider
Tuesday Apr 03, 2018
Tuesday Apr 03, 2018
This week we look at what many hailed as the reboot no one asked for, Tomb Raider. While the acting is fine, the plot leaves a lot to be discovered. It has a strong start, the movie gets weaker over time and ends feeling like an Indiana Jones knockoff.

Ep058 - Annihilation
Monday Mar 19, 2018
Monday Mar 19, 2018
Where "Annihilation" scores big is having a mostly female lead cast, playing up more emotions than action in a sci-fi film and creating a stunning visual landscape. Where it doesn't score big is with the audience. This episode Allan and Patrick enter the shimmer and discuss the sad box office fate of Alex Garland's "Annihilation".

Friday Feb 23, 2018
Friday Feb 23, 2018
The King has arrived! Allan and Patrick (and the rest of the world it seems) go crazy for "Black Panther". Whether it's the numbers and the fact it opened better than the entire domestic run of "Justice League", or the unparalleled acting, or the promise of a much-improved MCU with the introduction of Wakanda; "Black Panther" has arrived and is amazing!

Ep053 - Black Lightning
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
The CW has expanded it's DC comic base by dusting off "Black Lightning". This show has far more of a Netflix feel that other CW DCEU shows which is a good thing, but it still has its faults. Costuming, White saviors, wooden acting, and questionable attributes of controlling lightning leave Allan and Patrick feeling a bit meh. Though they have started working on a new musical number to use all the electric puns they came up with - Black Grease Lightning.
